Bear with me folks -- I'm fresh off a week of vacation and totally behind on the internet. In returning to all my various feeds, I couldn't help but notice that all my online pals have changed their avatars while I was offline. Apparently last week, Face Your Manga took the web by storm, inspiring Twitterers and Tumblrs everywhere to change their profile photos and totally confuse me in the process. (ie. Who are all these comic-inspired faces that I'm suddenly following?)

Face Your Manga is an easy-to-use avatar creator wherein you morph your sweet little face into a Japanese comic. While the majority of my friends have created spitting images of themselves on the site, I gave it a whirl and can't get Manga Kelly to look anything like me (left). Let's see yours in the comments!

I also totally love (and weirded out by) the definition of avatar in the FAQs:
It's the image that represents us in the virtual world (chat, rpg etc.). The term "Avatar" comes from Sanskrit "avat?rah", that literally means "Incarnation of God onto earth"; we use this image in order to represent us and to become our "virtual incarnation".
I think I'll just stick with my WeeMee for now.
