11. Nick Douglas: Young and Restless
  • Who: In 2006, Gawker overlord Nick Denton hired Nick Douglas, just shy of graduating from college, to edit his gossip blog for Silicon Valley, Valleywag. Not bad for a kid who, at the time, hadn't yet spent a full year drinking legally. Most recently at Gawker, Douglas (whose personal blog can be found at Too Much Nick) contributed posts mostly about online culture, helping steer millions of readers -- Internet-savvy or not -- toward items worthwhile of their attention. Something tells us Douglas is going to be around for a long time.
  • Mancrushin': Douglas also writes and appears in a daily sketch show with Jared Horney called "Blank White Cards."
