3. David Byrne: The Cool Uncle You Never Had
- Who? David Byrne wouldn't even call his blog a "blog." On his page, it's considered a "journal," and we are completely down with that because the former Talking Heads frontman has aged in a way in which we only hope we can. A venerable "Renaissance Man," Byrne has remained as technologically savvy, geek-friendly and culturally relevant as he has handsome (and is there anyone else who can make gray hair look so good?). He seemingly knows...everything, and has his hands involved in cultural projects involving public art, architecture, urban development and live performance. And somehow he even made the time to pen a feature for Wired Magazine about the future of the recording industry.
- Mancrushin': Byrne's current exhibition in New York is called "Playing The Building," in which he has rigged an abandoned space to function as one large "musical instrument" manipulated by piano keys:
