Kids these days! They've got their Webkinz, their MyFace, their Spacebooks -- they're all over the Net! They probably wouldn't recognize the sound of a modem if it were included in some 'High School Musical' ballad!

If you can manage to pull yourself away from MetaFilter, Fark and HuffPo for just one minute (calm down -- Arianna would never abandon you!), allow us introduce you to the savviest kid this side of Silicon Valley Nursery School. "Fred," the alter ego of 14-year-old Nebraskan Lucas Cruikshank, has been tearing up YouTube, garnering more subscribers than tween mammoths the Jonas Brothers. Equipped solely with supersonic editing and goofy facial expressions, Cruikshank's Fred - a hyperactive six year old who is notably oversensitive (and may we say slightly effete?) - has captured the eyes of the littlest surfers everywhere.

("Neighborhood squirrels" made us LOL 4 REAL.)

Sure, you might need a nap after visiting his YouTube channel, but you can't say we didn't warn you.

On the other hand, if you possess the same maturity level that we do at Urlesque, you might find Fred undeniably hilarious and -- dare we say -- sly. Would you want to babysit him? Probably not, but it's okay because in about six months, the only people making sure Cruikshank stays happy will be Executive Producers and Hollywood agents.
