The launch of Slashdot Idle back in January was a predictable shot across the bow at the Diggs and Farks of the web - the web's general time-wasting audience was bound to become too big for the venerable nerd news site to ignore. While the Slashdot homepage remained profoundly geeky, the community's been quite wary of occasional "Idle" links on the main site. Now there's a Greasemonkey script to block Slashdot Idle stories, just in case you didn't think this was serious. Who knew that nerds were so picky? Or touchy? I mean, this is a video that turns a disco anthem into a song about calculus empowerment... why not skip the outrage and enjoy an undeniably nerd-relevant diversion?

Regardless, it's part of a larger trend of math song parodies on YouTube that we're not about to ignore. Click below for our top 10, and just try to keep yourself from dancing along. U + internet obsession = former calc geek, no?
