Now that they've upended the music industry (for now) and started a contest on Aniboom to find their next music video producer, Radiohead are leaving the internet behind a bit to go out on a much-anticipated world tour. But when seeing the band in person is far from free, the internet isn't going to let go easily.
Refreshing this YouTube search or this blogspot blog aren't bad places to start tracking the tour -- the blogspot's info is actually decent, though its attribution policies and frequent ad links are not. But the true (and truly broke) fans can attempt to recreate each night's magic over at Radiohead 2008 Tour Statistics, a clear labor of love from an uber-fan and committed number cruncher. The site breaks down the songs being played in every way imaginable - the main page not only displays the prevalence of each album on the setlists so far (pictured above), it also provides an average setlist for predictive purposes, breaks down the soundchecked songs, and tracks what songs haven't been played at all yet (I'm going to keep pulling for "Motion Picture Soundtrack" anyway). And this is before you get to the Gig Stats page of setlists determined to be statistically rare. Worst, best, and weirdest show ever claims just got a lot less BS-able.
Everyone loves it, and not just because the site's design is in rainbows (get it?!) -- this is yet another way that we urlbots can justify staying in, saving money, and hiding the fact that we kind of like the new Flight of the Conchords video better anyway.
