In fact, while reading about how the Internet might do me in, I was stricken by a vision of the 12 Ways The Internet Can Save Your Life.

The saved: Former vloggers, mmm, the world
Exhibit A: Jack Kashmir was two hours away from committing suicide when he called a firefighter ... to taunt him? Kashmir gave his name, hinting that the firefighter knew him, then hung up. So the firefighter tracked him down on YouTube where he recognized him from a past real estate venture. YouTube -- making firefighters seem even more godly, in surprising new ways!
Exhibit B: "YouTube changed everything; all I had to do was to post this short video describing a normal summer day," says Ernesto Van Peborgh who stopped waterskiiers from destroying the fragile Morenito lake ecosystem and the black swans who live there.
