Just when you thought it was dead, the small house in Toronto that filled up our in-boxes months ago is seemingly BACK. So by popular demand, we are featuring the house that rocked the Internet in FW: -- our section which lists annoying email forwards. A few notes:
- Tiny Toronto House has been featured on 'Ellen' -- but so has a lot of awkward dancing
- The somewhat passive-aggressive words after the jump are the original text that accompanied the FW:, so don't get all Grammar Lady with us
- Curiously, some think this house is in Brooklyn ... that is simply not true [Thanks, Curbed!]
- The dude who sold it in 1993 used the video services of these guys, we think.
TORONTO 'S SMALLEST HOUSE IS FOR SALE ! ! !
If ...you live alone or with one other person (or an extremely small dog) .. or if
...... you don't have much stuff (barely more than a homeless person) . or if
..... you miss that cute little apartment you lived in while teaching English in Japan.
THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU ! !
This house, located near the intersection of Dufferin Street and Rogers
Road is believed to be Toronto 's smallest house.
It occupies what used to be a driveway.
It's a one bedroom, one bathroom home that sits on a
parcel of land 7.25 feet (2.2 metres) wide and 113.67 feet (34.6 metres)
long and has an interior area of just under 300 square feet (under 28
square metres).

Here's the living room again, looking towards the back.

Here's the kitchen. Note that despite the small space,
they've managed to fit a washer and dryer into the place.

Here 's the bedroom. It comes with a Murphy bed,
which is a necessity in such a space. This is what it
looks like with the Murphy bed down.

You also get some patio space out back.
Here it is, looking towards the f ront o f the house:

Why didn't they utilize the space by going up! The could have made it another story or two higher and perhaps, been a little closer to the money they were asking. (Which is outrageous.) They should have made it taller, which would have fit in better with the neighborhood and had a lot more square footage.

A bit too much money, but it is adorable! I agree they should have gone up for more space.

I would love to tour this little house. It is absolutely .A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E....the funny thing is..I've lived in an apartment that was even smaller...yep, it was 1/2 a garage under a house that was renovated into an apartment...TEENIE TINY but fun and different. I think it would be fun to live there...not to mention that it's a good conversation piece =)

I can show you a much smaller and well organized house in India. All types of room covered in single room.

Awww, it would be like living in a playhouse! I wouldn't enjoy curious people coming to the doorstep and peering in all the time, though.

I have caught stories on this house befor. I have 1/2 or more of my Family living in Toronto and scatterd around Canada. We are retired and Constantly visited by family. How wonderful it would be for us to have this Lovely little hide-away just big enough for TWO! And we only have Chihuahuas now so THEY would fit nicely too! And finally we would have time to visit with our Canadian Relatives, instead of just the One weekend a year when we gather in Springbank Park in London, and swim in the Hotel and eat what is left of our picnic!! Since it's in Toronto we could just dash about the relatives homes in summer and maybe they would put up our decorations for the Holidays!! Now, where can we Park? HUMMMM? Oh..and find the Funds for a teeny-weeny 2nd home, that cost compares with many, Family Homes in Michigan! What up with THAT?
