Here at Urlesque, we have an on-going series called 'Did You Mean...?' that is all about getting website names confused with their actual URLs in these crazy times of spelling words with missing letters and such.
On the flip side, there's the helpful nudge from Google when entering a search term spelled incorrectly and receiving Goog's gentle reminder: 'Did you mean___.'
Since we launched this morning, Google still is not hip to the Urlesque game. Currently, a query for 'Urlesque' will lead to several results that do not, in fact, lead to our beloved site. Apparently, Goog thinks we are a stunning pair of black, back lace-up stilettos. Ouch.
And to further the blow to our pride, Goog's slippery spiders assume that an error in spelling must have occurred; 'Did You Mean: burlesque' promptly shows up on the screen. No I did not, Mr. Google. And now I consider this a challenge. Hopefully, someday soon Urlesque will overcome and Goog will no longer demean our chosen name.
Don't worry, we'll keep tabs on this ill-fated query and let you, dear readers, know when we have 'made it' in the big wwworld. Let's hope for your search queryin' sake [and ours! hello, SEO!] that it's sooner rather than later.
